Port St. Lucie man arrested at Miami airport after kittens’ mysterious deaths

A Port St. Lucie man was arrested after getting off an international flight in Miami and now faces charges after a welfare check on four kittens revealed a history of harm and the mysterious deaths of seven others.

The Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) said that on June 16, Animal Control was requested to do a welfare check on four kittens at a home located on Southeast Anchor Lane.

The caller reported that one of the kittens had a broken leg and raised concerns for the other animals’ well-being, per the report.

Furthermore, according to the complainant, Alairic Ramsbott had previously adopted seven additional kittens since March 2025, but all of them had died under suspicious circumstances.

PSLPD said that the allegations included that Ramsbott, 23, subjected the kittens to serious harm, including throwing them to the ground and drowning, resulting in their deaths.

Additionally, it was reported that he wore long rubber gloves to avoid being scratched during these incidents. After their deaths, Ramsbott allegedly arranged for the cremation of the seven kittens.

PSLPD noted that they became involved in the investigation due to the seriousness of the complaint and obtained a search warrant for Ramsbott’s home, which was executed on June 19, while he was out of the country.

During the search, detectives reported having recovered the rubber gloves mentioned by the complainant and seizing electronic recording and storage devices.

The four surviving kittens were taken to the Humane Society of St. Lucie County for examination. The report states that one kitten was discovered to have a fractured jaw, while two others exhibited signs of infection, likely due to stress. The fourth kitten did not have any broken bones but was suspected to have a pulled muscle.

The U.S. Marshals Service Task Force apprehended Ramsbott on June 25, 2025, at Miami International Airport after he arrived on an international flight.

The investigation is ongoing, with detectives currently conducting digital forensic analysis on the seized devices.

Ramsbott is in custody at the St. Lucie County Jail, where his bond is set at $600,000.
