The Miami Heat have had several Hall of Famers play for the franchise. Let’s take a closer look at the five players to make All-NBA First Team as members of the Heat.
LeBron James – 4 Times (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014)
James was named All-NBA First Team in each of his four seasons with the Heat. He won the regular season MVP award in two of those seasons, won two championships and was named Finals MVP two times. Over 294 regular season games with the Heat, James averaged 26.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.7 steals. Following the 2013-14 season, James left the Heat to return to the Cavaliers.
Shaquille O’Neal – 2 Times (2005, 2006)
After winning three championships during his time with the Lakers, O’Neal joined the Heat prior to the 2004-05 season. He made All-NBA First Team in both of his first two seasons with the franchise. The Heat won the NBA championship in 2006 with O’Neal averaging 18.4 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game during their playoff run. Across 205 regular season games with the Heat, O’Neal averaged 19.6 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1.9 blocks.
Dwyane Wade – 2 Times (2009, 2010)
Wade made 13 All-Star teams during his time with the Heat. He finished third in MVP voting in 2008-09, leading the league by averaging 30.2 points per game. He also averaged 5.0 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 2.2 steals per game that season. Wade won three championships during his career and was named Finals MVP in 2006. Over 948 regular season games with the Heat, Wade averaged 22.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.6 steals.
Alonzo Mourning – 1999
Mourning won his first Defensive Player of the Year award and made his first All-NBA First Team in 1998-99. He led the league by averaging 3.9 blocks per game, while also averaging 20.1 points and 11.0 rebounds. Those robust numbers also helped him finish second in MVP voting. The following season, Mourning finished third in MVP voting and won his second straight Defensive Player of the Year award. His lone career championship came in 2006 with the Heat. Across 593 regular season games with the franchise, Mourning averaged 16.0 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.7 blocks.
Tim Hardaway – 1997
Hardaway was originally drafted by the Warriors. He was later traded to the Heat during the 1995-96 season. In his first full season with the team, he was named All-NBA First Team by averaging 20.3 points, 8.6 assists and 1.9 steals in 1996-97. He was named an All-Star that season and also finished fourth in MVP voting. While that was the lone season that Hardaway made All-NBA First Team during his career, he made All-NBA Second Team each of the next two seasons. Over 367 career regular season games with the Heat, Hardaway averaged 17.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 7.8 assists and 1.5 steals.
