Inter Miami v Porto live: Latest score and goal updates as Lionel Messi starts Club World Cup game tonight

59 min: A huge chance for Miami to wrap up this game as Messi feeds Cremaschi surging down the right wing behind the Porto defence. He delays just a moment too long before trying to find Luis Suarez in the middle, and it allows Ze Pedro time to get back and make a crucial interception.

What a ridiculous footballer Messi is. He’s 37 and still doing magical things.

Of course he scores. Messi pauses for just a moment before whipping the ball into the top-right corner, just over the stretched hand of Claudio Ramos. It was so central that the goalkeeper didn’t quite know where to stand, and in the end he didn’t get close.

53 min: Messi plays a sharp one-two with Suarez on the edge of the box, gets blocked off and wins a free-kick in a very promising position. That was a bit soft, for me – Messi ran into the defender – but this is now a very dangerous situation for Porto…

51 min: Messi tries a free-kick from more than 30 yards out, and it floats harmlessly wide. That was ambitious, to say the least, but I still don’t think any of his teammates will be grabbing the next free-kick.

What a finish this is! Inter Miami work it down the right wing from where it’s crossed to the penalty spot. Telasco Segovia arrives and smashes it first time, on the bounce, into the roof of the net.

And for all their brilliance, none of Messi, Suarez or Busquets were anywhere near that goal.
