MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Crews with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and the Florida Forest Service are working to contain several small grass fires that broke out Saturday afternoon along both sides of Krome Avenue, authorities said.

Florida Forest Service officials said the fires have burned approximately 25 acres so far, but no injuries have been reported and no structures are in danger.

Authorities said Krome Avenue has been shut down between Southwest Eighth Street and Kendall Drive as a precaution while crews continue working in the area.

Authorities are asking drivers to avoid the area and find alternate routes.
