Lando Norris steps away from social media

“Yeah, I’ve not been on social media for a few weeks now,” Norris said at Imola.

“It’s just not something I enjoy. I don’t need to, it’s my life, I can do what I like.

“I enjoy not going on my phone as much as I used to. I mean, I still use my phone and I am still texting my friends, all these things.

“But I just see social media, from my perspective, more of a waste of my time and energy and I just don’t need that, don’t want it.”

FIA STATEMENT ON LECLERC FINE:

A statement read: “The team representative admitted that these procedures were not followed, which is a breach of Article 30.5 a) of the FIA Formula One Sporting regulations.

“The stewards note that this was during a free practice session.

“In accordance with similar operational tyre infringements in the past, the stewards issue a fine of €5,000.”

NEW: Ferrari fined after Charles Leclerc tyre error in Imola GP practice

Ferrari have been fined €5,000 (£4,200) for breaking the rules regarding tyre pressures on Charles Leclerc’s car in practice at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

Both Leclerc and teammate Lewis Hamilton complained about brake issues, giving more problems for team principal Fred Vasseur and his engineers to fix ahead of qualifying on Saturday.

But just after Friday’s running in Imola, the FIA released a statement saying Ferrari had broken the regulations regarding tyre temperatures.

Oscar Piastri quickest again!

Different practice session, same result!

Piastri tops the timesheet, 0.025 seconds clear of Lando Norris!

Pierre Gasly will be delighted with P3 for Alpine, while Russell was fourth-fastest and Verstappen fifth-fastest.

6-10: Leclerc, Hadjar, Tsunoda, Albon, Sainz

Lewis Hamilton, after a session in which he moaned about his brakes, was P11 – 0.650 seconds off top spot!

RED FLAG!

Isack Hadjar comes off track!

The Racing Bulls driver manages to get his car going again, having skewed off track, but comes to a halt on the edge of the Tamburello turn!

Something is amiss – and the stewards stop the session with eight minutes left!

Brake issues at Ferrari!

No guesses for what Hamilton’s teammate Charles Leclerc is now complaining about!

“The brakes in mode warm up are horrendous mate,” he says.

Upgrades? Seemingly not, so far.
