Crews battling brush fire in southwest Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A brush fire that ignited sometime Thursday afternoon has led to road closures in southwest Miami-Dade County.

It is located near Card Sound Road and Southwest 392nd Street.

According to officials, the 18-Mile Stretch and Card Sound Road in both directions have been closed due to the fire.

The fire was upgraded to a Second Alarm, leading to over 20 units responding to battle the blaze.

Crews from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and the Florida Forest Service were on scene.

Access in and out of the Florida Keys is expected to continue to be disrupted while crews work to extinguish the fire.
