Police were on the scene or on the way around noon, officials said. Students and faculty were instructed to continue to seek shelter and await further instructions.
“Lock and stay away from all doors and windows and be prepared to take additional protective measures,” the alert said.

A witness claimed to a local station to have seen a college-aged man exiting the student union with a handgun. Another witness reported having been in the Bellamy Building, hearing what sounded like multiple gunshots, as well as the sound of a semi-automatic weapon.
Students and faculty were seen on video taken by a student at the student union running to seek shelter as officials responded.
According to Leon County School District spokesperson, Chris Petley, several campuses in the area, including FSU, are under lockdown. All classes and university events, including athletics, have been cancelled.
