Miami in Third After Successful First Day at Buckeye Classic


COLUMBUS, Ohio— The Miami RedHawks have sole possession of third place at the Buckeye Invitational, only one stroke behind Ohio State. Morgan Blythe (71-67=138) leads the Red and White, ending the day tied for third. 

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Blythe is six below par, shooting four birdies in each round. He advanced four places from the first round after a bogey-free second round. 
  • Michael Weber (72-67=139) trails close behind in fifth, shooting five below par. He moved up ten places after shooting an eagle on the eighth hole of the second round. 
  • Cameron Pero (72-71=143) ended the day with a score of one below par for 13th place. He opened his second round with two consecutive birdies, totaling nine throughout the day.
  • Brett Podobinski (71-75=146) is tied for 26th. He ended both rounds with birdies on the eighteenth hole, totaling six throughout the two rounds. 
  • Matthew Mattioli (75-73=148) competed as an individual, advancing eight places with a score of four above par. 
  • Sam Mortell (76-74=150) is tied for 50th with a score of six above par.
