Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputy arrested on battery charges
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputy was arrested over the weekend on battery charges, Local 10 News learned Tuesday.
According to an arrest report, Deputy Anthony Zayas, 39, was arrested Sunday morning by his own agency on a felony battery charge and a misdemeanor battery charge.
The report states that the incident in question involved Zayas and his wife, who have children together.
According to MDSO, the couple got into an argument Saturday night inside their Tesla as they were leaving Schnebly Redland’s Winery & Brewery.
Deputies said the argument escalated when Zayas punched and slapped his wife multiple times in the face.
