North Miami Beach residents return to damage after city reopens building

Crestview Towers Condominium residents’ nightmare continues

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – North Miami Beach officials allowed Crestview Towers Condominium residents to come back home.

It took nearly four years of repairs and inspections for the building to be deemed safe.

Ligia Mora, a property owner, said the building may be safe but her apartment is far from it.

“They fixed the balconies but the windows are destroyed,” Mora said.

Structural safety concerns prompted city officials to order an evacuation in 2021, but residents still had to pay their condo fees.

Mora said the experience has been draining financially and she doesn’t have the money she needs to make the fixes needed for her to go back.
