Fun South Florida weekend ahead between Miami Open, Miami Music Week
MIAMI – It’s a huge weekend for sports fans and music lovers.
The Miami Open has already taken over Hard Rock Stadium with new activations and experiences, and there are some free events happening for music week.
Major events are taking over the city of Miami. From world class tennis and luxury experiences to Miami music week bringing non-stop parties and performances.
There’s a little something for everyone to enjoy.
“We’re elevating the experience all around here,” said Pri Shumate, CMO of the Miami Open. “You’re in this like sports Disney World essentially. It’s a fantastic experience.”
At the Miami Open, it’s not just about what happens on the court, it’s a full-on festival of food.
“We’re basically a tournament where in addition to tennis, you’re living Miami,” said Shumate. “There’s restaurants from all sorts of different areas of Miami.”
For the first time, Zuma has set up a 164-seat dining experience, offering the only full-service sit-down restaurant at the tournament.
“You can expect great food, good food and a nice atmosphere,” said Zuma North America Vice President Angel Alleyne.
Before you can get a seat at the table, you make your reservation downstairs on-site.
Overall, the food options at the Miami Open are endless.
“This is the year we’ve had the most sponsors and brands come be a part of this journey with us, so we feel like we’re super well represented both on the tennis side with folks like Lacoste and with folks like Fable, we have Miami Slice, they’re here,” said Shumate. “We have an incredible group of restaurants, activations, brands, that are all making this what it is.”
There’s also something for the entire family to do, from interactive activations to kid-friendly fun.
Some experiences may bring out the inner child in you.
While the Miami Open is serving up experiences, Miami Music Week is turning up the volume.
Coyo Taco in Wynwood is celebrating 10 years with a block party featuring Major Lazer.
“There’s going to be a lot of surprises,” said Alan Drummond with Coyo Taco. “I can’t tip any of them off, but just as an example last time we had a block party with that team Travis Scott jumped on, so there’s going to be a lot of very special guests.”
Coyo Taco is also collaborating with Versailles this month to offer limited-edition dishes that are super Miami.
