Motorcycle, car engulfed in flames after crash in southwest Miami-Dade
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A fiery crash involving a motorcycle and a car left both vehicles nearly unrecognizable in southwest Miami-Dade on Friday evening.
The crash occurred near Southwest 152nd Street and 112th Avenue, sending thick black smoke into the air that could be seen from miles away. Witnesses reported hearing a loud impact, followed by flames erupting quickly.
“Others made a left turn and the motorcycle crashed into it, okay, and then it just exploded. The motorcycle exploded on fire. And there it was. The car was on fire, but the seats wouldn’t go out. That was the amazing thing. Tires popping. Hey, they got it,” one witness recounted.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, Florida Highway Patrol, and Miami-Dade deputies responded to the crash. Firefighters worked for an extended period to extinguish the flames.
Witnesses at the scene told Local 10 News that everyone in the car was able to escape safely, but the motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital. The extent of their injuries remains unclear.
The crash has caused a major traffic disruption, with Southwest 152nd Street closed in both directions near the scene.
This is a developing story. Local 10 News has reached out to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office for more information.
