Should Miami Heat Pursue One Of These Two Scorers If Unable To Land Star?

The Miami Heat are expected to have a busy offseason during free agency.

After moving Jimmy Butler before the trade deadline, the Heat could become major players this summer. If they are unable to land a big-time free agent, an article by Bleacher Report suggested the Heat could chase two scorers: Chicago Bulls guard Coby White or Cole Anthony of the Orlando Magic.

Here’s what the article said: “If the Heat can’t snag a star, then they should be on the hunt for scorers who wouldn’t stay on the books past next season. Both White and Anthony meet those marks. White no longer feels locked into the Bulls’ backcourt plans, while Anthony has seen his minutes and shots fall for the third consecutive season.”

White is averaging 18.2 points this season with the Bulls while Anthony is at 9.4 in Orlando. Either could serve as solid complements to Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo with the Heat.

The Heat face the New York Knicks tonight at Kaseya Center. Here’s the game preview:

QUOTABLE

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra on Bam Adebayo’s inconsistent shooting: “That’s why I treasure these relationships and coaching relationships that I’ve had with Bam and Tyler, that are really unique in this league. I’ve worked with Bam now for eight years, and then a summer with the USA team. We have a different relationship than just coach to player. It’s much deeper than that. And unfortunately you don’t get a lot of that in this league. I’m already starting to develop that with Tyler now. That just happens over time.”
