Dolphins Star Tyreek Hill Doubles Down on Wanting to Return to Miami Amid Trade Rumors
Miami Dolphins star receiver Tyreek Hill has had a rollercoaster few months, as the elite pass catcher was subject to massive trade rumors at the conclusion of the 2024 NFL season.

The Dolphins were trounced in their final game of the regular season by the lowly New York Jets in a game that was indicative of the entire season. To make things worse, Hill pulled himself from the game in the fourth quarter.
Following the game, Hill stated he wanted to “open the door” on leaving Miami. The result flamed the idea of trade speculation, which was shut down by Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel.
McDaniel revealed that he spoke to Hill and told him the repercussions of quitting on the team as one of its leaders, and also indicated the conversation led to both parties being happy with a forward direction.

Hill then joined “The Kay Adams” show and apologized to Tua Tagovailoa and his teammates, claiming he wanted to remain in Miami. Despite his apologies, he remains one of the biggest names in free agency and trade speculations.
The good news is that Hill has doubled down on his dedication to set things right for himself and with Dolphins fans.

Hill took to X to state, “This will be my best year yet dolfans .”
The simple message of hope should excite Dolphins fans plenty, as it sounds like the speedy receiver is deadset on staying in Miami. He said as much during his apology on the “Kay Adams” show, but now he is ensuring that he remains in the building by stating he will bounce back in a big way.
Hill might be able to rebound, but he will need to heal to do so. The Dolphins star was recently revealed to have undergone offseason surgery, as a ligament in his wrist was dealt with.
McDaniel confirmed at the NFL Scouting Combine that Hill did not have a broken wrist but had ligament surgery when images of him in a cast began to make their rounds online.
Hill will need to have a monster season to come back, as his best career season came with Miami in the 2023 season. He secured 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns in his second season in South Beach.
No receiver has broken the 2,000-yard range, with the current record sitting at 1,964, which was set by former Detroit Lions legend Calvin Johnson. Hill attempted to break the record in 2023, but end-of-season injuries held him back from achieving that goal.
If Hill can heal quickly from wrist surgery and return to proper form in 2025, he may just surpass his 1,799-yard season, and be the one to finally break Johnson’s career.
The Dolphins did not look like their normal selves in 2024, as the top offense in 2023 faded into a shell of its former self in 2024. Tagovailoa suffered a concussion and the run game all but disappeared.
Miami has a lot of work to do to rebound in 2025, but at least they will get back one of the best receivers to accomplish their goals of challenging the AFC and AFC East again.
