The Miami Dolphins finished the 2024 season with a 8-9 record. They were second in the AFC East division and the only reason why is because the Jets and the Patriots were even worse than Miami were. The 2024 season was obviously a huge step back from their 2023 season where they finished 11-6, This ended their two-year playoff streak and had there first below .500 season since 2019.
How did the Dolphins perform last season?
The Dolphins started the season with a 2-6 record, with Tua Tagovailoa missing four games due to concussion from Week 2 against the Bills. It seems like Tagovailoa has a knack for getting concussed as this was his third time in his NFL career. This put a lot of pressure on the Dolphins as their starting QB missed a significant amount of time, which resulted in a lot of losses for the team. They heavily struggled for not having a good backup QB and that was certainly a lesson for the Dolphins.
Offensively the Dolphins were ranked 18th in the league and a lot of it goes on poor QB play by their backups Skylar Thompson, Tim Boyle and Tyler Huntley. Defensively the Dolphins ranked 4th in the league but due to their lackluster offense, it did not matter how great of a defense they had. You need to score to win NFL games and Miami could rarely do so.

No major offseason signings and injuries wrecked the Dolphins in 2024 and this not only had the fans frustrated ,but also their Wide Receiver Tyreek Hill. It was the first time in Hill’s 9-year NFL career that he was not playing in the playoffs. This led to Hill saying that he’s “out,” and does not want to play for the team anymore. There are a lot of lingering question for the Dolphins but let us see who they play in the 2025 season.
