Baseball Set for Crosstown Clash with Miami at loanDepot Park
MIAMI – FIU Athletics announced Saturday that the FIU baseball program will face crosstown rival Miami at loanDepot park, home of Major League Baseball’s Miami Marlins, on Tuesday, March 4, at 7 p.m.
This matchup marks the first meeting of the season between the Panthers and Hurricanes and the first time in program history that the two teams will square off at LoanDepot Park.
“This crosstown showdown is a huge win for everyone involved including FIU, U.M. and baseball fans in Miami,” said head coach Rich Witten. “This is an exciting opportunity for our program and our players to play in a MLB stadium. I want to thank the Marlins, FIU’s administration, and Miami for coming together to make this happen. It will be a special night of baseball in this great city.”
