Miami-Dade landlord shoots tenant during dispute

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A landlord in Miami-Dade County was detained for questioning Saturday morning after he shot his tenant, authorities confirmed.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 9400 block of Southwest 17th Terrace shortly after 8 a.m.

Deputies arrived at the scene to find a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Authorities said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and transported the man to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in critical condition.

According to deputies, a dispute between a landlord and tenant became physical, at which time the landlord pulled out a gun and shot the tenant.

The landlord was detained for questioning and a gun was recovered at the scene.

It’s unclear whether the landlord will face charges.
