More on the Miami Hurricanes, NCAA Transfer Portal

In other Miami Hurricanes news related to the NCAA Transfer Portal, former TCU center James Brockermeyer has committed to the program as well. Brockermeyer was the No. 1 interior offensive lineman to enter the transfer portal, according to On3’s 2025 Transfer Portal Player Rankings.

Brockermeyer started all 12 games for the Horned Frogs in 2024. He came to TCU after beginning his collegiate career at Alabama.

Brockermeyer redshirted for the Crimson Tide in 2021, before appearing in a pair of games in 2022, including a Sugar Bowl victory over Kansas State.

Brockermeyer saw his role increase in 2023 as he played in all 14 games on special teams, while also getting some work in at center. After helping the Crimson Tide reach the College Football Playoff, Brockermeyer transferred at the end of the 2023 season.

Brockermeyer played high school football at All Saints Episcopal (TX), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the 199 overall recruit and the No. 11 offensive lineman in the 2021 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

With one year of eligibility remaining, Brockermeyer will look to reach his full potential at Miami. The Hurricanes boasted one of the better offensive lines in the ACC this season, only allowing 23 sacks.
