Miami man accused of pistol-whipping, firing shots at uncle

MIAMI – A Miami man is facing serious charges after he pistol-whipped his uncle and fired two shots at him during an argument at his home last week, according to an arrest report obtained by Local 10 News on Friday.

Authorities said Miami police officers responded to the victim’s home on Dec. 27 after a ShotSpotter notification detected gunfire. The address of the home was redacted in the publicly released report.

Police said the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Emile Milord Bien-Aime, arrived at his uncle’s home uninvited while he had friends over.

Authorities said Bien-Aime at some point threatened everyone to leave, warning he would start shooting if they didn’t comply.

An argument between Bien-Aime and his uncle escalated into a physical altercation after he allegedly began disrespecting the victim’s guest, according to police.

During the confrontation, authorities said Bien-Aime reportedly struck the victim in the back of the head with a silver pistol.

As the victim walked toward his front door, police said Bien-Aime fired two shots at him but missed.

Investigators said witnesses at the scene corroborated the victim’s account, and positively identified Bien-Aime in a single photo.

Authorities confirmed that Bien-Aime fled the scene, but was later apprehended by the MPD’s Violence Apprehension Team.

Police said Bien-Aime declined to provide a statement after being read his Miranda rights.

Jail records show he is facing one count each of attempted felony murder with a firearm and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

As of Friday, Bien-Aime was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where his bond was listed as “to be set.”
