Miami-Dade police release photos of vehicle involved in fatal hit-and-run crash

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – The Miami-Dade Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit continues to investigate a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred in November, and has now released photos of the vehicle involved in the fatality.

Photos show the blue 2014 Honda CR-V with heavy front-end damage being towed away.

According to police, the victim, Dilio Mena Ortiz, was struck by the SUV just after 2 a.m. on Nov. 1 in the area of Northwest 27th Avenue and 132nd Street.

Police said the driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim or calling 911.

Authorities have not said who the vehicle is registered to.

They are asking anyone with information about the driver’s identity to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
