MAST among 13-Miami-Dade schools to earn award | Key Biscayne
Thirteen Miami-Dade County public schools have earned the prestigious Florida Purple Star School of Distinction designation for their extensive support of military families.
This marks the first time Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) has participated in this process, and all 13 schools successfully met the rigorous requirements for this recognition. Once awarded, schools retain the designation for three school years.
Established by the Florida Legislature in 2021, the Florida Purple Star School of Distinction designation honors schools that excel in supporting the unique needs of military families, assisting military-connected students in overcoming critical challenges, and providing essential resources to help them transition smoothly to a new school environment.
