What is happening with gas prices in Miami? | Miami
With the holiday driving season approaching and AAA projecting that 107 million people will travel 50 miles or more by car by Wednesday, January 1, gas prices are top of mind.
For Miami drivers, filling up before hitting the road may be a bit more affordable—especially off the island.
Average gasoline prices in Miami fell 12.6 cents per gallon as of Monday, December 23, now averaging $2.98 per gallon across the County, according to the gas price tracking app and website GasBuddy’s survey of 1,690 stations in Miami.
Gas prices on Key Biscayne are at $4.79 per gallon, a price that has remained unchanged for most of the year.
Prices in Miami are 10.7 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and 15.0 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. Nationally, the average price of gasoline has risen 3.1 cents per gallon in the last week, now averaging $3.01 per gallon. The national average is down 2.6 cents per gallon from a month ago and 9.2 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.
“We’ve seen a second consecutive weekly rise in the national average, driven by price cycling that led stations in the Great Lakes region to restore their margins to normal levels ahead of millions of motorists traveling for Christmas,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
