Our Top 20 player countdown rolls on with Jalen Ramsey

play

Jalen Ramsey of the Miami Dolphins has been a Pro Bowl cornerback for the past seven seasons and was All Pro in three of those years.

Ramsey has 22 interceptions in eight seasons.

In 10 games with the Dolphins last season, Alpha Ramsey held opponents to a career-low opponent passer rating of 51.1.

Why Jalen Ramsey is No. 2

Ramsey, 29, carries himself with an undeniable swagger and backs it up on the field.

Ramsey is a shutdown corner, one of the best in the league for years.

He made an immediate impact on Miami’s defense after returning from injury. In the 10 regular-season games Ramsey played, he picked off three passes.

With Xavien Howard let go, Ramsey is Miami’s clear #1 cornerback and it’s more likely he will follow around opponents’ best wide receivers in 2024.

Telling stat

1: Touchdown allowed by Ramsey in 2023, according to Pro Football Focus. They say he had allowed a total of 12 touchdowns in the previous two seasons.

How we see Jalen Ramsey’s future

New Miami coordinator Anthony Weaver will probably move Ramsey around Miami’s defense more this season.

Jalen can play inside. He can play outside. He can play the star safety spot.

Ramsey has two years left on a 3-year deal worth $18.3 million per season.

That will bring Ramsey through his age 32 season and the Dolphins can re-assess after that.
