Weather forecast calls for safety alert for Colombia-Argentina fans

MIAMI – Argentina and Colombia fans met for spontaneous outdoor fan parties on Saturday. They will likely do the same Sunday as their national teams meet for a historic match at 8 p.m., at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

Sunday will be even hotter than Saturday. The Local 10 News Weather Authority meteorologist warn the day of the Copa America final comes with a heat advisory that is in effect until 6 p.m. in both Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

With the heat index in the 100s, fans should wear light clothes, a hat, and sunscreen, and stay hydrated. Use umbrellas to keep under the shade. The risk of rain is a low 30% until 4 p.m. when it lowers to 20%, and then to 10% after 7 p.m.

There is a free indoor airconditioned fan zone at the mall in Aventura, a free shaded fan zone at the Wynwood Marketplace, and an outdoor theater watch party that doesn’t require an admission ticket in Miami Beach.

Here is a list of watch parties for fans:
