Mario Cristobal and Miami football continue with best class in Florida


The 2025 Miami football class vaulted into the top 20 nationally with a recent surge of commitments. Miami is currently 17th which is significantly higher than the other Football Bowl Subdivision programs in Florida. No other FBS program is ranked in the top 40 2025 recruiting classes.

Florida State has the second highest ranked class in the Sunshine State at 42nd. Central Florida has the third highest in-state class at 46th, followed by South Florida which is 58th, Florida at 65th, FAU which is 78th and FlU at 107th. South Florida leads FBS teams in-state with 22 committed players in the 2025 class.

FAU and Miami are tied for second with 14 commits each. Central Florida has 11 players committed in their 2025 class, Florida and Florida State each have eight players committed and FIU has six. Florida State has the highest averaging ranking per commit in-state at 93.55. Florida is second with an average rating of 90.33 from their commits.

Miami is third with their average commitment with an 89.93 rating. The average rating among other Florida programs are UCF at 88.41, USF at 85.60, FAU at 85.05 and FIU at 86.19. The average rating for Florida and Florida State will likely come down as they add more commitments to fill out their 2025 classes.

Miami also leads the way in blue chip commits in the class. The Hurricanes have commitments from nine four-star prospects and five three-stars. Florida State is second with all eight of their 2025 commits blue-chip prospects. The Seminoles have one five-star commit and seven four-stars.

Four of the eight 2025 commits to Florida are four-star prospects. Florida does not have any five-star commits. UCF has two blue-chip commits with both being four-star prospects. FAU, FIU and USF do not have any blue-chip commits in their 2025 recruiting classes.

Miami signed the best class in Florida in 2023 and 2024 in the first two complete recruiting cycles under Mario Cristobal. In comparison with the other two in the big three in-state, Miami signed the fourth-best 2024 class nationally, Florida State was 12th and Florida was 13th.

Miami signed the seventh-best class nationally, Florida was 13th and Florida State was 19th. Some of the 2025 prospects for Miami are expected to hinge on how the 2024 season develops. If Miami has a successful season, the Hurricanes should sign several top prospects. Miami is in position for its third consecutive top 10 class nationally.
