Liberty City food truck owner serves community more than just hot dogs

MIAMI – Are you hungry? Friday marked National Food Truck Day.

And one Miami food truck owner is serving the community more than just loaded hot dogs.

“He’s got the best sausages here in Miami,” customer Bernard Rosales said.

Antwan Multimore owns Fatman Hotdogs at Northwest 54th Street and 13th Avenue in Liberty City.

“It started out with a hot dog cart,” he said. “Now I have a food trailer.”

He not only serves up good eats — but also serves up free eats to neighborhood children and the homeless.

“Certainly the kids, a lot of kids coming from school, they go to football practice and basketball practice right up the street at Charles Hadley Park,” Multimore said. “They actually talk, they sit down, I help them with homework.”

Fatman Hotdogs is also a hit with Miami police officers who patrol the area and out-of-town visitors.

Multimore’s 19-year-old son, Chuckie, does most of the cooking.

Multimore said his grandmother taught him one important thing: “If you can’t do anything for someone, you can at least feed them.”
