Crashes cause Turnpike closures in Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Crashes prompted southbound closures on the Florida Turnpike on Saturday night and early Sunday morning in Miami-Dade County.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel responded to both crashes.

At about 9 p.m., Saturday, a multiple-vehicle crash stalled traffic and shut down the on-ramp at Southwest Eighth Street. The traffic congestion was also near the HCA Florida Kendall Hospital.

At about 4:20 a.m., Sunday, a multi-vehicle crash shut down southbound traffic at the Eureka Drive exit in the Cutler Bay area.
