Woman killed following head-on crash in rural Miami County

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Wichita, Kansas woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash Friday in rural Miami County.

The crash was reported just before 11:20 a.m. on U.S. 169 Highway between Crescent Hill Road and Bethel Church Road.

Investigation into the crash revealed that the driver of a red 2013 Mazda 3 was northbound on U.S. 169 when she attempted to pass a vehicle and a tractor trailer and struck a gray 2016 Chevrolet Equinox head on.

The driver of the Mazda was pronounced dead at the scene and has been identified as 36-year-old Natalie Dawn Lober O’Leary, of Wichita.

The driver and passenger in the Equinox were both taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation into the crash is on-going.
