It’s the Crew’s final match in a six-game road stretch, and Columbus has the chance to break the club record for most consecutive MLS road victories with a win over the Eastern Conference-leading Inter Miami.

Columbus will have the upper hand at Chase Stadium due to Miami having multiple regular starters missing from action, including star forward Lionel Messi, who is with Argentina’s national team for Copa America. If the Crew beat Miami, it will be their fifth MLS road victory in a row, dating back to the CF Montreal match on May 15.

However, Miami has reached the top of the conference leaderboard despite missing Messi for 12 of its 19 matches. With 11 victories on the season, Miami has already surpassed its 2023 regular-season win total of nine and has equated 38 points.

“This is a good exercise, good challenge for us,” said Crew coach Wilfried Nancy. “It is going to be hot, and then also we have to be good on the ball. So, the game is about how we can run without the ball and with the ball. … I don’t know how we’re going to finish the game with the weather, but it should be a good game.”

If the Crew pick up three points against Miami, it will help as the team attempts to catch up to the rest of the conference in both games played and points. Columbus has played 15 games and have 27 points, which is good for seventh in the Eastern Conference.
