Miami Dolphins training camp start date 2024 released

The Miami Dolphins are less than a month from getting back on the practice field and beginning their final preparations for the 2024 NFL season. The league released the scheduled opening day for each team’s training camp period on Tuesday, and the Dolphins are set to begin their summer practice session with the rookies reporting a week before the veterans.

Miami will have the rookie report to camp on July 16. The veterans will then follow on July 23. The team will hold training camp at their Baptist Health Training Complex next to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

The Dolphins are slated to hold four days of joint practices this summer, two with the Atlanta Falcons and one each with the Washington Commanders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Dolphins host the Falcons in the first preseason game, then host the Commanders in Preseason Week 2. Those joint practices will likely be held at the training facilities in Miami Gardens.

The joint practice against the Buccaneers will likely be in Tampa ahead of the Preseason Week 3 matchup between the teams at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium.

Specific dates have yet to be announced for those practices, but the team typically does not practice the day before a preseason game. The Falcons game is set for Friday, August 9, making it likely Tuesday, August 6, and Wednesday, August 7, for those practices. The Commanders visit Miami on Saturday, August 17, making a Thursday, August 15 practice the likely scheduling. And Miami’s game in Tampa is on Friday, August 23, making a Wednesday, August 21, practice likely.

The team will open practices during training camp to the public, weather permitting, allowing fans to attend the on-field workouts. Dates and times for those open practices have not been announced. Fans must request free tickets for the practices through the team’s website.
