Lionel Messi and the possible MSN teencontre at Inter Miami

Lionel Messi is a standout in MLS and Inter Miami. The star doesn’t shine alone for the Herons. The Argentine has convinced former teammates like Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, and Luis Suárez to don the pink jersey. Together, they contribute to leading the Eastern Conference.

Regardless of the conference, Inter Miami boasts the best attack in the league, with 42 goals. The Messi-Suárez duo has been involved in more than half of these goals, precisely 24. But have you ever wondered if the duo could turn into a trio? With Neymar, forming the famous MSN, just like in their Barcelona days?

If the Herons were already considered favorites, they would be even more so. It wouldn’t be crazy to say that the numbers could be much more impressive. Neymar would be another big star who would elevate the standard of MLS. At 32 years old, he still has a lot to offer and is fully capable of playing at a high level. The Brazilian even drew interest from LA Galaxy in 2023. But, if he were to choose a team, Neymar would certainly prefer Inter Miami, to play with Messi and Suárez again.

However, at the moment, this won’t happen. Neymar is still recovering from a severe injury. He tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during Brazil’s loss to Uruguay in the World Cup qualifiers last October. Regardless, Messi acknowledged his friend’s difficult year and reminded that Neymar is an Al-Hilal player in Saudi Arabia until mid-2025.

“I don’t know. The truth is that now it’s difficult. He’s in Arabia and I think he has a year left on his contract. He’s had a tough year, with a long injury, missing the Copa América, and couldn’t play most of the games in Arabia,” Messi said.

The world turns, and anything can happen. But for now, fans hoping for an MSN reunion will have to wait. Messi himself acknowledged the uncertainty of the future: “It’s difficult now. Later, I don’t know. Life takes so many turns that anything can happen, but I think today, no.”

The three players formed one of the greatest attacks in Europe, winning nine titles together: three Copas del Rey, two LaLigas, one Spanish Super Cup, one Champions League, one UEFA Super Cup, and one FIFA Club World Cup.
