Matt Allen: Overseeing development of 21,000 new residential units

As Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Related Group, Matt Allen has overseen all day-to-day operations of the company for over 25 years.

Mr. Allen is widely acknowledged throughout both the real estate industry and the greater South Florida community as a key force in driving corporate growth while also contributing positively and significantly to the greater community. 

At Related Group, he is responsible for finance, acquisitions, human resources, marketing, legal, accounting and asset management. He also plays a lead role in the oversight of the company’s three main divisions: condominiums, affordable and related development, as well as its property management company, TRG Management and Related ISG.

Known by his peers for his ability to empower, inspire and innovate, Mr. Allen says he is constantly focused on new ways to push company growth and support constant forward movement, particularly in areas such as technology, financing, partnerships and team building.

Since 1999, he has worked to raise over $15 billion in equity capital and debt. 

Mr. Allen has been active within the South Florida community for over 30 years and has been personally involved in raising over seven figures for various charities and nonprofit community organizations. 

He has been the chairperson of the Miami 2020 Super Bowl Host Committee, a board member of the Jackson Health Foundation, and a member of the Orange Bowl Committee. He is a member of the Foundation Board for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami and a board member of the University of Miami Real Estate Advisory Board. 

He also has been on the board of Miami Country Day School and the chair of its Athletic Steering Committee, a trustee of United Way Miami, a member of the Tocqueville Society and a recipient of the 2016 BASF Philanthropist of the Year Award. 

Mr. Allen is also a former member of the BankAtlantic Advisory Council, The Marlins RBI Advisory Board and The Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the Beacon Council, as well as a former board member of the Dolphins Cancer Challenge, which benefits the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Research Center.

About a year and a half ago, he launched his own nonprofit, the Matt & Lisa Allen Family Foundation, which supports underserved communities, education, and healthcare solutions. 

He completed his undergraduate studies at Barry University, which named him a 2020 Distinguished Alumni Award honoree, and received his master’s degree in business administration from Florida International University.
