Miami Teens Go TikTok Viral for Fairy Tale-Inspired Prom Looks and Arrivals
Prom night is no joke for the students at Booker T. Washington Senior High School.
With prom season in full swing, it’s no surprise that teens are taking to social media to show off their over-the-top looks to cap off the school year.
However, the kids attending the Miami school’s fête are going viral on TikTok for pulling off some of the most extravagant gowns and suits in the history of modern-day prom fashion.
It all started when Camilo Castro, a recent graduate of Booker T. Washington who goes by @laylow_camilo on TikTok and Instagram, uploaded two videos of his classmates’ elaborate prom outfits, many of which took after iconic costumes from popular fairy tales and Disney films.
One pair decided to dress up as Belle and Beast from Beauty and the Beast (and yes, one-half of the duo committed to wearing a realistic headpiece over their blue suit). Another duo committed to Cinderella and Prince Charming, rolling in on a horse-drawn carriage.
Two other students dressed up as Princess Jasmine and Aladdin and got their outfits down to the tee, except they didn’t fly in on a magic carpet (or tag team on a hoverboard made to look like one). Instead, they cruised in on a shiny Mercedes-Benz car and greeted people through the sunroof.

Both of Castro’s TikTok videos have views in the millions and thousands of comments from outsiders marveling over the opulent outfits, some going as far as comparing the local event to the Met Gala. The extravaganza was also well-received in real life as a crowd of onlookers can be seen hyping up the students in Castro’s clips.

Luxury prom nights are not uncommon in the area.
The students at Miami Northwestern Senior High School have gone viral for multiple years thanks tor their looks and elevated transportation to prom. According to the Miami Herald, Lamborghinis, Mercedes Benzes, BMWs and Rolls Royces, as well as a Tesla Cybertruck with a police escort, were spotted on the scene of the school’s 2024 prom night, which was themed “Majestic Beauty: A Night of Elegance and Class.”
“This is the norm,” said Northwestern alum Tyeshia Bryant, who shared a video of the epic arrivals on social media. “But this class set the bar a little higher because everyone understood the assignment.”
