Man, 39, accused of having sex with teen in Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A 39-year-old man from southwest Miami-Dade was arrested Friday after he allegedly had sex with a 16-year-old boy at the victim’s home, authorities confirmed Monday.

According to an arrest report from the Miami-Dade Police Department, Claudio Manuel Calzado is facing one count of unlawful sexual activity with a minor.

The victim told detectives that he and Calzado met through an online messaging platform for “sexual encounters,” the report stated.

The victim agreed to meet with Calzado at his house around 10 p.m. Friday, where they had sex, police said.

While having sex, the victim’s aunt arrived at the residence and startled Calzado, causing him to flee the scene and leave his cellphone, wallet and keys behind, authorities said.

Police said the victim’s family assisted in locating Calzado and detained him until Miami-Dade police officers arrived at the scene to arrest him, according to the report.

Investigators said Calzado was transported to the MDPD’s Special Victim’s Bureau for questioning.

Detectives confirmed that he provided a statement, which was redacted from the publicly released report.

Calzado did not appear in the Miami-Dade Corrections’ inmate search as of Monday afternoon.
