We see a 10-1 start for Miami Dolphins
The good news?
The Dolphins are going to start this season 7-0 and 10-1.
The bad news?
Have you seen the end of Miami’s schedule?
It’s tougher than a Sudoku puzzle.
So, yes, we see Miami finishing 2-4 down the stretch, and it could be worse.
What’s more important is that Miami find a way to win a playoff game for the first time in 24 years.
That really, really – did we say really?- has to happen this time around.
There have been 25 Dolphins starters at quarterback since Jay Fiedler got that postseason W.
If Miami gives Tua his $50+ million deal, there will be added pressure.
Yes, we know Tua is chill and doesn’t really feel pressure.
Well, that’s good if it works for him.
Too many folks are underestimating the loss of Christian Wilkins and its potential impact on Miami’s run defense.
In order for Miami’s roster to meet the talent level of 2023, we think they’ll need to add a veteran guard and a veteran defensive tackle and perhaps a veteran defensive back.
Basically – a few win-now veterans should be on back-order for July or August.
Gosh, I wish it wasn’t Thanksgiving when Miami plays at Green Bay this year.
And I wish Miami didn’t have four potentially-cold weather games.
If you live in Buffalo or Cleveland, I understand that your idea of cold and mine may not quite align.
Miami’s schedule is manageable – despite that brutal late-season stretch.
If they stay relatively healthy, there is no excuse to finish worse than 10-7 and, honestly, little to no excuse to finish worse than 11-6.
At the moment, we like 12-5.
But the moment quite a way away from the moment in which we make our actual preseason predicitions.
We’ll actually be bringing you some spring practice notes the next two Tua-sdays from Miami Gardens. Y’all see what I did there?
I can see it now.
Jaylen Wright burst through the middle for a 65-yard touchdown.
Odell Beckham Jr., made a one-handed grab of a Tua pass for a 35-yard gain.
Tua completed six touchdowns.
One can dream, no?
I mean, after all, it’s like – May.
