New details released following fatal shooting of security guard outside Miami Beach nightclub
MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – An arrest warrant reveals more details following the fatal shooting of a Miami Beach nightclub bouncer that occurred early Sunday morning.
According to the warrant, a shooting was reported just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday in front of Club Exchange, located at 1532 Washington Ave.
Police said the victim, Marley William Lester Case, 31, was found laying on the ground with several gunshot wounds in his back.
Case was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where he died.
According to the warrant, several minutes before the shooting, the suspect, Dvonn Reaux, 28, had been kicked out of the club for trying to fight with security staff and other patrons and officers had responded to the scene.
Police said officers recalled that Reaux, who was with a friend or relative, had been complaining that he was missing personal property inside the nightclub.
The shooting was reported shortly after and a witness identified Reaux to police in a sequential lineup, the warrant stated.
Jail records show Reaux was taken into custody Sunday by the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
He is being held at the North Broward Bureau on an out-of-county hold.
Miami police confirmed Monday that Reaux faces a second-degree murder charge in connection with the fatal shooting of Case.
A GoFundMe page has since been created to help Case’s family during their time of need.
