New England Revolution – Inter Miami summary: goals, stats and highlights | MLS
A brace from Lionel Messi fired Inter Miami to a comprehensive win over the New England Revolution.
The Herons were top of the Eastern Conference ahead of their trip to the struggling Revs but were behind after just 40 seconds when stand-in striker Tomas Chancaly opened the scoring. Miami were back on terms after half an hour when Lionel Messi finished coolly from close range.
The Miami captain scored his second midway through the second half, latching on to a delightful through-ball from Sergio Busquets. With half an hour to go the visitors were ahead and they made it safe in the final stages as Benjamin Cremaschi and Luis Suarez came off the bench to score.
The game ended 4-1 to Inter Miami, a third successive MLS win for Tata Martino’s side and another disappointing day for the Revs.
