Convicted felon with long record was back behind bars in Miami-Dade

MIAMI – A 59-year-old man — who has been in and out of Florida prisons since 1988 — was last freed on March 6, but it only took about seven weeks for him to get back behind bars.

According to Miami-Dade County inmate records, correctional officers booked Frank Leone on Thursday night at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Police officers accused him of stealing tools.

On Friday, Leone stood before Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Mindy Glazer accused of stealing from the DC Luxury Rentals, at 7553 NE 2 Ave., in Miami’s Little River area.

“You are not allowed to go to that location,” Glazer told Leone in court. “You must stay away from there.”

According to the Florida Department of Corrections, Leone has had convictions in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Martin counties. The list includes six grand theft cases and five burglary-related cases.

Records show he keeps on getting accused of stealing. On Friday, Leone faced new charges of burglary of an unoccupied structure and theft. Glazer set his bond at $2,650.
