Grandmother faces harassment charge in Miami-Dade

MIAMI – A 79-year-old woman was using a wheelchair when she appeared in Miami-Dade County court on Saturday.

Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Laura Anne Stuzin said the grandmother was facing a second-degree felony charge of harassment.

Attorney Juan Maurin told Stuzin that he was representing Olivia Maria Borbolla, who had surrendered to police on Friday.

Borbolla has “never been arrested in her life … she has a host of physical problems, including a pacemaker and some other things,” Maurin said.

Records show Borbolla, who is 5-foot, 2-inches tall and weighs about 220 pounds, was at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Saturday afternoon. She lives in Miami-Dade’s Country Walk area.

Stuzin ordered Borbolla to stay away from the victim. She also set Borbolla’s bond at $7,500. Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Lody Jean was set to preside over the case.
