Miami Hurricanes’ Henry Parrish Jr. to enter transfer portal
CORAL GABLES — The Miami Hurricanes lost a significant contributor to their offense on Tuesday as running back Henry Parrish Jr. is expected to enter the transfer portal, according to multiple reports.
Parrish, a Miami native, led the Hurricanes in rushing yards the last two seasons. Last year, Parrish had 625 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 100 carries.
In two years with the Hurricanes, Parrish had 1,242 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns.
Parrish, a Miami Columbus alum, arrived at UM before the 2022 season after transferring from Ole Miss.
Parrish’s departure leaves the Hurricanes shorthanded at running back, especially in the spring.
Rising sophomore Mark Fletcher Jr. is expected to take the reins at running back, but he is out for the spring after suffering an injury during Miami’s bowl game loss to Rutgers.
Miami also returns Ajay Allen, but he is also out for the spring due to injury.
The Hurricanes have five scholarship running backs on the roster: Fletcher, Allen, TreVonte’ Citizen, Chris Johnson and Chris Wheatley-Humphrey.
