Early voting for Presidential Preference Primary begins in Miami-Dade County

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Early voting for the Presidential Preference Primary Election begins Monday in Miami-Dade County with 23 sites opening up for voters.

But unlike some other years, this year’s presidential primary is only open to certain voters in Florida as only the Republican party is holding a presidential primary in the Sunshine State.

With only President Joe Biden running as a Democrat, it has eliminated the need for a Democratic presidential primary.

In addition to Democrats, any voter who has No Party Affiliation (NPA), is also not eligible to vote.

Early voting in Miami-Dade will last through Sunday, March 17.

Voting times will vary based on the day, but for Monday at least, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Those times will extend as the election gets closer.

Voters in Broward, meanwhile, will have to wait until Saturday, March 9, to begin early voting.

The presidential primary itself is a little more than two weeks away, on March 19.

All of this comes just one day after Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley claimed her first primary victory, winning the GOP primary in Washington, D.C.

Her victory makes her the first woman to ever win a Republican primary or caucus.

She, of course, is the last challenger remaining as former President Donald Trump, who is facing four felony indictments in court, continues to lead her in the delegate count.

Haley up to this point has insisted she is not dropping out of the race, and the results tomorrow on Super Tuesday could go a long way in determining how long she stays in this race.
