Arraez, Burger introduce new look

MIAMI – The start of the 2024 season gets going in February for the Miami Marlins, who welcomed fans at loanDepot park on Friday afternoon for their annual FanFest event.

Due to the Caribbean Series taking place Feb. 1-9 at loanDepot Park, FanFest was moved a month earlier this year.

Luis Arraez and Jake Burger introduced a new look for the team, which now features the alternate Spring Training blue jersey being worn throughout the regular season and white lettering on the black jersey.

The Marlins will look to punch their ticket to postseason play for the second time in as many seasons under Skip Schumaker, who took home National League Manager of the Year honors after guiding his club to an 84-78 campaign.

Philadelphia, however, sent the Marlins home packing in the first round of the playoffs, taking both games at Citizens Bank Park.

New President of Baseball Operations Peter Bendix, coming from the Tampa Bay Rays’ organization, hopes to sprinkle some of that magic with his new team.

Ace Sandy Alcantara, the 2022 National League Cy Young Award winner, will miss the 2024 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in his right elbow.
