Below are some random thoughts from today’s game.

Such a tough loss

Man, a win today would’ve been so big for Coach L’s squad. They were without Wooga Poplar, Omier twisted his ankle, Nijel Pack got banged up, yet the game came down to the last possession. Speaking of the last possession, I did not like the play call at the end of regulation. Cleveland was playing well, but I don’t think a jump shot by him is what Coach L was looking for. I would’ve rather had George, Pack, or Bensley Joseph shoot. An even better idea would’ve been to get the ball to Omier underneath. He was killing Wake’s frontline all-game long.

George is blossoming

While I think this game could’ve gone differently if Wooga played, Canes fans can’t argue with the offensive performance Kyshawn George put on in Wooga’s absence. George led the team in scoring, shot 5-9 from three-point range, and made all four of his free-throws. Despite the loss, George showed Coach L and his teammates how much of a difference-maker he can be in his freshman season.

Okay, that’s it. I’m bummed the Canes lost. Time to enjoy some NFL!

GO CANES!
