Miami-Dade to offer free bus rides starting in November | Miami

If you ride the bus for work or pleasure, you are in for a treat – like free bus rides.

As Miami-Dade County is preparing to launch its the Better Bus Network, it announced that it bus-riding in the county will be “fare-free across the entire system” for the remainder of the year.

The County’s Better Bus SHIFTS into Gear plan improves Metrobus and MetroConnect service, increasing frequency in what the County called “the biggest network overhaul in county history.”

Some of the benefits of the Better Bus plan include:

– Frequent routes on the network increase from five to nineteen, covering most of the county

– Weekend service will now be providing almost the same levels of service as weekdays, for most local routes
