Firefighters battle massive flames that engulfed Miami Springs home – NBC 6 South Florida
Firefighters battled an early morning blaze Thursday after a fire broke out in a Miami Springs home, officials said.
Video captured from the scene showed massive flames coming from the ceiling of the home as fire crews worked to put them out.
The fire broke out at about 4:22 a.m. at a home located at 851 Hunting Lodge Drive in Miami Springs.
Authorities said that while one engine began a fast attack on the fire, another engine pulled a secondary hose line to help combat the flames. Fire crews were also able to ventilate the roof to further progress.
Officials have not released any details as to how the fire started, but Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said it is now under control, residents were evacuated and there were no injuries reported.
Authorities on the scene later confirmed, however, that a dog was in the garage at the time of the fire and died.
