The Miami Dolphins beat the New England Patriots 24-17 in Week 2 in Boston. For the second half of the annual home-and-home series between the AFC East division rivals, the oddsmakers see the Dolphins expanding that margin of victory in Miami. Despite a rough loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football in Week 7, the Dolphins have opened as the week’s biggest favorites for Week 8.
The Patriots are coming off their best performance of the year, beating the Buffalo Bills 29-25, but they are not given much chance in Week 8. According to the DraftKings Sportsbook opening lines, the Dolphins are 9.5-point favorites for the game. The point total for the game is set at 47. Miami is -470 on the money line, while the Patriots are +360.
The Dolphins will be looking to fix their issues early on Sunday, jumping out to a big lead and then cruising to the victory. They face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9, so while the team cannot look ahead and give the Patriots a chance to pull off two-straight upset wins, they can use this game as a chance to allow some of the injuries the team has sustained in recent weeks to fully heal before meeting the reigning Super Bowl champions.
