Miami Properties Get $1 Billion Bet From Brazilian Billionaire Dantas

Billionaire Daniel Dantas has spent the past 30 years increasing his fortune through the Opportunity firm he helped found in Brazil. Now it’s investing directly in US real estate for the first time.

Opportunity oversees about 58 billion reais ($11.5 billion) in assets, from rural land holdings to port operators to palm oil producers, making it one of the biggest independent asset managers in Brazil, filings show. It separates its activities into private equity, asset management, wealth and real estate.
