Jon Gosselin & RnB star help philanthropist Patrick Carroll donate hundreds of sneakers to kids in need in Washington DC

JON Gosselin and a host of other celebrities helped Miami real estate tycoon Patrick Carroll donate thousands of dollars of sneakers to underprivileged kids in Washington DC.

The reality star visited DC as part of the business man and philanthropist’s million-dollar cross-country “Kickz For Kids” tour.

Jon was joined by RnB singer Raheem DeVaughn and Below Deck star Carmen Felder to gift truckloads of trendy sneakers to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington.

It’s the sixth city in his quest to donate a million dollars worth of sneakers to underprivileged kids across the US.

Patrick said: “There’s no better feeling than seeing the kid’s faces filled with excitement when they get a new pair of really cool sneakers.

“They’re surprised and so happy at the same time. I don’t know of a more genuine and fulfilling experience than I could imagine.

“As cliche as it sounds, the message I give the kids is, ‘If I can do it, anyone can do it.’

“I am far from your typical success story. I got in some trouble growing up, didn’t go to college, and I’m self-taught.

“I think, especially these days, it’s important for the kids to understand the message, “Work hard for your dreams and you too can live the American dream.”

Former Jon and Kate Plus 8 star Jon said: “Nothing feels better than taking time to give back to others and Patrick Carroll has made doing that really fun.

“DC is my third Carroll event and I would have to say that helping out at The Boys and Girls Clubs for Kickz for Kids has truly become one of my favorite charities.”

RnB singer Raheem added: “It brought me joy to see kids, smiling, laughing, and trying on a new kicks, and it was a pleasure giving that to the community on behalf of philanthropist, Patrick Carroll on behalf of my Love Life Foundation.”

Ready to Love star Carmen added: “Being a part of this amazing event brings tears to my eyes.

“The joy I see on the kids faces is priceless. Patrick Carroll is a true blessing to the Boys & Girls Club.”

So far, self-made tycoon Patrick has given away over half a million dollars worth of this season’s most sought-after sneakers to underprivileged kids in Tampa and Miami, Florida, Atlanta, GA, New York City, Chicago, and now DC.

The father of three commissioned sneaker aficionado, Ben Kickz, aka the “Sneaker Don”, to bring a truck filled with 600 pairs of high-end sneakers to distribute to members of the Boys & Girls Club to different locations across the U.S.

The next leg of the tour will be at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington location.

Growing up in Tampa, Florida, Carroll relied on The Boys & Girls Club and their facilities to play basketball.

He said: “Knowing firsthand how aspirational having the right pair of sneakers can be to a kid in need, it’s incredible to see the looks on these kid’s faces when we pull up in that truck.”
