The Bearcats go 75 yards in six plays in 2:58 with Corey Kiner scoring from the 4-yard-line. Carter Brown’s extra point good. We’re all knotted up at 7. Perhaps, they’ll keep an eye on Larvadain now?

Former Bearcat and NFL defensive back Harukia Nakamura is here. He just posed for a picture with defensive line coach Walter Stewart and former quarterback Tony Pike. I spoke to him afterward”

Pregame news

The big story prior to the game involves next week when the Oklahoma Sooners hit town. Fox Sports will bring their Big Noon Kickoff Show prior to the contest with the festivities starting at 10 a.m. The event will occur at the Tangeman University Center Commons open area where ESPN’s “College GameDay” emanated from in 2021.

Among the cast of the Big Noon Kickoff Show is former University of Cincinnati defensive back Urban Meyer who later was head coach at Bowling Green, Utah, Florida and Ohio State.

The University of Cincinnati has played night football games at Nippert Stadium for 100 years. The latest is tonight’s 127th Battle for the Victory Bell between the Bearcats and Miami University. With last year’s victory at Paycor Stadium, UC went over .500 in the series at 60-59-7.

UC has won 33 of their last 34 home games and has won nine straight “Nipp at Night” games. They haven’t lost a Nippert night game since 2017, nor an away night game since falling at UCF in 2018. In the series with the RedHawks, the Bearcats have won 16 straight with the last loss coming in a 2005 midweek game in Oxford at Yager Stadium.

The Bearcats found themselves down 17-7 in the first half last year before running off 31 unanswered points to secure the bell yet again.
