Three people injured after shooting during street race in Miami-Dade – NBC 6 South Florida
Three bystanders are in the hospital after an altercation between the participants escalated to a shooting at a street takeover in Golden Glades on Sunday morning.
According to a release by the Miami-Dade Police Department, the shooting occurred at the intersection of NW 146 street and NW 7th Avenue where a group of people had gathered for a street takeover.
Police say that during the takeover, there was an altercation between the participants which led to one of the suspects to produce a firearm and open fire, injuring the three bystanders.
Those three victims are reportedly 19 and 20 years old.
New video captured one victim being placed on a stretcher — and a man is heard being told stay back as he shouted “That’s my daughter!”
The release by Miami-Dade police states that a male and female were taken to Ryder Trauma Center in stable condition, while the third victim was taken to Hialeah Hospital by a friend, but was later transported to Ryder Trauma in an unknown condition.
Surveillance video obtained by NBC 6 also captured where the incident may have started — as it shows cars speeding the wrong way down NW 7th avenue, just a block over from the I-95 — around 5:30 Sunday morning.
Investigators are still trying to figure out whether the shooting continued on the Interstate, which had several lane closures, while they search for those responsible.
